Can you please change the field type from varchar(40) to varchar(80)? It is too short for department names, I can change this but want to be sure, that it is not changed back during updates. Thank you.

Hi Ercmuc,

we do not plan to make changes on those field length at the moment, but you might change it on your own system. It should be pretty save concerning updates. If we change the length of fields, we have also to touch the code for PDF generation and other stuff, lots of code. We do plan to change these parts of the system in the future, but it’s a major change then.

To be REALY save, you should document all your changes on your system.

Hi Emilio,
Thanks. I understand, no problem for me to controle my changes and add them again with updates. But the only fear is to have a data lost. If I have a bigger field length with data, I may not have an update with setting new a less field lenght. This would mean, I will loss letters at the end of the field.

So if I can be sure that field lengths are NOT set especially again with an update, there is no problem.
